Due to yet another server side bug introduced about a year after Shift 2 Unleashed was released, if I use one of the 40 saves after login, I get an error "invalid password" and no opportunity to change the password (this used to work, a user was able to change email and/or password if there was a login issue with Shift 2 Unleashed). However, the saves after logging in use a password that did not meet the new requirements for passwords and EA forced a password change on my account.
I have 80+ saves that I made before I logged into my account, and 40 saves after I logged into my account that have the Limited Edition content and the Dr Pepper Camaro. I purchased the Limited Edition and also used a promotional code for the Dr Pepper Camaro, but these no longer appear if I start a new game or if I use a save made before I logged into my account. This has stopped working in the case of Shift 2 Unleashed (and based on posts at some other forums it's affecting other games also).
For some EA games, the DLC content that a user pays for is not actually downloaded as it is already in the downloaded data, and when it was working, any extra content the user paid for or used a code for would get unlocked at game login time.
